Duro-Last VS Sarnafil VS Syntec PCVS and how they compare

Well I was doing a little research this week and wanted to see how the other cool white roofs stack up. I compared Duro-Last , Sarnafil , and syntec. All look basically the same from a distance, all are a PVC based product, all are reinforced with a scrim, will not continue to burn when flame is not present and will not degredate because of animal fat. After that they start to separate Sarnafil and Syntec are rolled goods while Duro-Last is factory premanufactured and heat welded to size before shipping.  They all are energy star roofs but they differ by a couple of points of reflectivity with Syntec being the lowest at 77 and Duro-Last the highest at 87.5 They all offer an option for a green growing roof and all can partner with solar installers for a super green roof.  The warranty is where they really differ Duro-last has a 15 year no cash limit warranty standard while the other two have differing warranty times 5-20 years that offer different options depending on how much you want to pay. Duro-Last is made all in the USA while Sarnafil and Syntec are made other places and sold worldwide. All are good choices for a cool white roof and will save you money in the long run. The last point that differs is the reinforcement of the Scrim the Duro-Last is cross woven while the others are not which makes it stronger. In a pull test i could not rip a section of  pre ripped Duro-Last while the same could not be said for the Syntec or Sarnafil. As a note I love that Sarnafil did the roof on Mpls Target center under the 5th Largest green roof in the USA and 10th largest in the world.  So its up to you figure out what you want and do it but whatever you do get a white roof and maybe some Solar.

- PEACE
